Bringing Unparalleled Clarity to Your Event Designs
To all the event planners and designers out there—how often have you wished you could:
Show your clients exactly how their event will look, rather than just describing it?
Compare multiple design options side by side before making final decisions?
Determine the precise number of elements needed to create the perfect ambiance?
Optimize guest flow for both aesthetics and functionality?
Demonstrate how lighting—both natural and artificial—will transform the space?
If any of these resonate with you, Wedding Visualizer was created for you.
Why Did We Create Wedding Visualizer?
The concept of digitally rendering event spaces isn’t new, but its application in luxury wedding planning has reached an entirely new level. With the ability to create hyper-realistic, life-sized digital twins of venues and event setups, planners now have an entirely new way to refine and perfect their designs before the first chair is placed or the first flower is arranged.
This is exactly why we created Wedding Visualizer—not as a program or a tool, but as a service tailored to the needs of luxury event professionals.
At Lucky Onion, we’ve spent years collaborating with the world’s top planners and designers, and one thing is clear: No two events are ever the same. The ability to visualize an event in advance doesn’t just prevent surprises—it allows for intentionality in design, thoughtful decision-making, and a seamless execution that matches the original vision.
We sat down with Kevin Eslinger, our lead at Wedding Visualizer, to talk about its benefits, capabilities, and how this service can transform the way planners and designers execute their events.
What is Wedding Visualizer?
Lucky Onion: Can you describe to us what “Wedding Visualizer” is?
Kevin: “What we do is recreate a digital twin of the site and then populate it with all the items that you would have at a day-of event. So, we're building, not only the event space, but we're also putting in the chairs, the tables, and the linens you select. You're able to see a 3D representation of what your event space would look like, ceremony, reception, etc. before you set it up. It allows you to see all of your selections before you actually have the event. We work with an event planner's or designer’s mood board and bring it to life.
It's not theoretical or like an illustration, where you still don't quite understand what it will look like in your space. We actually produce digital twins of your custom chairs, your tablescapes, every specific item, flower, and decor in that space. Once those items are set up, we can easily switch it out, for instance, if you want to try three different iterations of it; you want to try three different colors, or patterns or items. You can try a bunch of different dance floors and stages. You can see what that would look like and when we can navigate through that space in 3D. It's really accurate. We work off of blueprints of the spaces. When I say digital twin, we're actually recreating it life-size on the computer, not only the environment, but the component parts.”
Lucky Onion: So, whether it's a ceremony or reception, there is an actual true-to-size representation of the decor, of the florals, of the linens, of all the specific elements that make up the design and also structural components of the event itself. Is that correct?
Kevin: Yes, and I'm saying true-to-size is because it is a video that our clients are seeing. We recreate, not just lighting that you would have inside the space, but the environmental lighting that comes from the sun. We replicate the sun and how the sunlight looks through the space at any particular time of the day. The sun has a live feature to it, to where, once we create the space, with real dimensions, we can also light it with accurate sun projections and interior lighting, and we can create the interactions between the two, just as you would have on the day of the event. There really hasn't been a case where I've been shocked by any location, or the photos that come back from the event. The event looks exactly like we create it as long as we're given the right items that you're going to actually put inside the space. It helps planners and designers decide what should go inside the space. They might have, in their mind, a certain type of chair that they want to have at the table, with a certain type of pattern within that environment. Though, once you get these things together, what you think looks good in a collage doesn't necessarily look good in the actual environment. It's really easy, once we have the file set up, to change things like textures. Stages and dance floors are often an iconic piece of the wedding reception and we can try out multiple stages and dance floors of what that would look like.
The Power of 3D Renderings in Wedding Planning
For years, wedding planners have relied on mood boards, verbal descriptions, and 2D sketches to communicate event concepts. But these traditional methods leave room for misinterpretation. Wedding Visualizer eliminates uncertainty by offering a lifelike, immersive experience that ensures all stakeholders—planners, designers, vendors, and clients—are on the same page.
Wedding Visualizer specializes in creating custom event visualizations that encompass everything from venue layouts and décor to lighting and floral arrangements, providing a comprehensive preview of the event.
Benefits of 3D Wedding Renderings
Enhanced Visualization
Seeing is believing. 3D renderings offer a realistic portrayal of the wedding setup, allowing couples, planners, and vendors to see their ideas come to life. This clarity helps in making informed decisions about design elements, ensuring the final outcome aligns with their vision.
Wedding Visualizer allows us to get very granular, lowering the amount of risk associated with set up and execution on the day of your event. We can even allow planners and photographers to see where the natural light will hit at certain times throughout the day and evening.
Improved Communication
With a tangible visual reference, planners and vendors can effectively communicate ideas and expectations. This shared understanding minimizes misunderstandings and ensures cohesive collaboration among all parties involved.
Lucky Onion: Can you explain how Wedding Visualizer acts as a communication device for all parties involved?
Kevin: “It clearly sets the expectations, for the planner and the client, of what to expect on the day-of.
The more elaborate your events become, the more structures you're building, the more moving parts you have, this is a way to keep everybody very simply on the same page. It's much more easily accessible than understanding architectural diagrams or engineering drawings. A lot of times, when you do engineering drawings, you're only doing it for that one part that you're creating. So, I would say all of our projects have some element to them that hasn't been done in that space; whether it's a lavish floral decoration that's being hung off the ceiling, a backdrop to a stage, or a stage itself. For instance, it could be a wedding huppah that hasn't been created, and you want a specific idea. There isn't anything that exists, that you can't just take a photo, and say “this is exactly what it'll look like in this space.” A lot of times we get images of the type of artistic element and overall vibe for the space and we are tasked to create what that would look like. I'm able to build it out exactly as it would need to be built and demonstrate what that would actually look like in that space. So, it is almost a requirement, for using a service like this is to do something different that hasn't been done before. It allows us to show exactly what it's going to look like, and give everybody a three-dimensional movie that allows the entire production and design team to be on the same page.”
We are also able to provide measurements to the team, “these are the parts, this is where it needs to go, and this is how it's going to look, even to the point where we show the best photo angles of the site.
Efficient Space Planning
Understanding the spatial dynamics of a venue is crucial. 3D renderings allow for precise floor planning, including seating arrangements, precise measurements, stage placements, and décor positioning, optimizing the use of space and enhancing guest experience.
This service isn’t for every event. As Kevin explains, Wedding Visualizer is best suited for planners and designers who are pushing creative boundaries and need a way to test new ideas before bringing them to life.
"If you’re designing an event that follows a standard template, this may not be necessary. But if you’re creating something bespoke—something that hasn’t been done before—having this level of visualization is invaluable. It allows planners to take creative risks without uncertainty." —Kevin Eslinger
Ultimately, this service helps execute events flawlessly, making sure that all of the moving parts and vendors are on the same page.
Cost and Time Savings
By visualizing the setup beforehand, potential issues can be identified and addressed early, reducing the likelihood of costly last-minute changes. This proactive approach saves both time and resources.
Lucky Onion: It would seem to us that this level of extensive visualization would likely cut out a majority of wasted costs, correct?
Kevin: “It allows the client to choose where they want to spend the money and how effectively that money will be spent in these different areas. For example, 1,000 flowers versus 6,000 flowers may or may not be important to the client. It may not be about cost savings as much as a choice of where that money is going. Your client may say ‘I want my stage to look more grand’ at which point of time we can suggest certain elements to make it look better. It becomes more about giving the client the visual understanding about where their money is going.”
Seeing the actual impact of décor and design elements allows planners to make more strategic financial decisions. Clients can decide where to invest for the best maximum effect desired.
Global Collaboration
In most cases, the hardest part of planning a destination wedding is the lack of in-person contact. For destination weddings or events involving international vendors, our 3D renderings serve as a universal language, bridging geographical gaps and ensuring everyone is aligned, regardless of location.
We recently collaborated with Isabelle Kline Design on this storybook wedding at Villa Balbiano. We were able to accurately measure and depict their spacing for seating, florals, reception tables, and we even planned for how the change in lighting throughout the evening would cast different shadows on the tables. You may have seen the viral video of this wedding on social media!
Applications in Global Wedding Planning
The global nature of today's weddings, with couples often choosing exotic locations or coordinating with vendors from different parts of the world, necessitates seamless collaboration. 3D renderings facilitate this by providing a clear, shared vision accessible to all parties, irrespective of distance.
Case Study: Wedding Visualizer
Wedding Visualizer exemplifies the impact of 3D renderings in wedding planning, and we now have years of experience under our belts with this cutting-edge technology. By offering custom visualizations, we enable couples to see a detailed representation of their wedding setup. This service not only aids in decision-making but also ensures that all elements—from the color scheme to the table settings—are cohesive and aligned with the couple's vision.
We like to call it a full wedding or event run-through without the setup and takedown. It’s every wedding planner’s dream!

The Future of Event Visualization
As technology continues to evolve, so too does the way we plan and design events. 3D visualization is just the beginning. In the very near future, we anticipate even more immersive experiences—perhaps even virtual reality venue walkthroughs that allow couples and planners to “step inside” their wedding before it happens.
For now, what’s certain is this: the ability to visualize and refine an event before it’s built is no longer a luxury—it’s becoming an essential part of high-end event planning.
At Wedding Visualizer, we’re honored to be part of this evolution, working alongside planners and designers who continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible.
If you’re interested in seeing how this works in action, we’d love to show you. Let’s explore how 3D visualization can elevate your next event.
